ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to prohibit foot traffic in the area.ic

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of collision with the rack systems and/or being struck by the collapsing rack: a.Building 6, Area R, Aisle 50 - In a section of the aisle, communication between the forklifts and wire guidance system is sometimes lost, resulting in the forklift momentarily losing directional control. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to prohibit forklift operation in the area of the problem until the wire problem is corrected.
