Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the personnel elevator was not provided with an interlock on the inside gate, to prevent employees from falling out, while it is traveling up or down: One method of abatement to correct this hazardous condition would be to install a tamper resistant interlock on the inner gate, in accordance with American National Standard Safety Code ANSI A17.1-1993 Section 111.5 CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM
