North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a) facility; press area - underhung crane with CM Lodestar hoist has not been load tested. b)facility; parts cleaner - underhung crane with Jet hoist has not been load tested. Reference: ANSI B30.11-1980; Paragraph 11-2.2.2(a) Rated load test - Prior to initial use, all new, extensively repaired, and altered equipment should be tested... NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to conduct the load test and have test reports readily available.
