Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to the hazard of being struck/ crushed by a falling house:
a)On or about November 19, 1999, at the job site:  Jacks used to support
the
house were not firmly supported at the base in such a manner that they
could
not shift under the load nor were the operators instructed in the proper
use
of the jacks.  Shims or constraints used did not prevent slippage of the
base
or load.  Temporary (dummy) support piers were not placed on a solid
foundation.
ABATEMENT NOTES:  Follow the requirements as set forth in ANSI B30.1-1975
