Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling 30 feet. (a)Worksite - Employee was observed riding the forks of a Lull Truck 30 feet in the air while standing on a wood pallet. On or about 10/18/00. ABATEMENT NOTES: a)Train employees in the proper procedures when elevating personnel on the forks of a rough terrain vehicle, and b)Provide the required personnel lifting platform when elevating employees on the forks of rough terrain vehicles. As required by ANSI B56.6B-1990 ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS NOT REQUIRED AS OUTLINED IN PART 29 CFR 1903.19
