AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS:
1) Repair/replace the bent portion of the body into which the passenger
side tailgate clamp fits.
Ensure that the tailgate clamps are tightened securely before starting to
load as specified by
Operating Function #35, Section 2 Safety Precautions, page 2-5, in the
Leach 2RII Packmaster
Operators Manual.
AND
2) Train employees on the hazards associated with tailgate clamps and
ensure that employees are
not engaging in the operation known as 'backpacking'.
NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the
inspection case file,
the employer need not submit certification or documentation of abatement
of this violation as
normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19.

#13, page 5-8.
