Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to fall hazards when cleaning roofs:
LOCATION:  B-3 Module

on or about 6/27/00, B-3 Module
a) The employees went to the roof to clean both the upper and lower
levels. The lower level was
approximately 14' above the ground. The roof was not protected with
standard guardrail nor was
any other method of fall protection used.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO IMPLEMENT THE FOLLOWING:
1) install guardrail around the perimeter of the upper and lower levels of
the roof.
NOTE: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this
item in accordance
with 29 CFR 1903.19.ce
