and/or flying debris
from the compactor:

On or about 12/5/00,
a) The key was continuously left in the compactor control panel which
would not prevent
unauthorized operation.
b) The emergency stop button was not located within 3 feet of the chute
feeding area.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct
these hazards are
to follow ANSI Z245.2-1992 Stationary Compactors - Safety Requirements for
Refuse
Collection, Processing, and Disposal Equipment.
NOTE: Because abatement of this violation is already documented in the
inspection case
file, the employer need not submit certification or documentation of
abatement of this
violation as normally required by 29 CFR 1903.19.
