North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of North
Carolina:  The employer did not furnish to each of his employees
conditions of employment and
a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or
likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to
damage to the eyes:
a)dry clean area-emergency eyewash fountain needed to flush eyes in the
event of
contact with dry cleaning chemicals, was used for the storage of pins,
buttons,
and other items found in suit pockets, and also the nozzles covers were
not kept
in place, as required by Para 5.1.2 and 5.1.3, ANSI Z358.1-1990.
One feasible means of abatement is to reinstall the bin formally used to
place
these items in and train the employees to use it instead of the basin of
the
eyewash fountain.
