Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a), Annotated Code of Maryland: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:01/05/00 Location:Belt Filter Press Room Equipment:ACP 200 PSI Air Compressor System Condition:Employees were exposed to explosion-related hazards due to the inability of pvc pipe to safely convey compressed air to the belt filter press. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install material that has sufficient integrity to sustain maximum pressures without failure. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
