Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to being struck by equipment where the block counterweights on the All Seasons Equipment hydraulic swing hoist were not fastened to the base to prevent accidental removal or displacement. Job Site: Roof. Employees were exposed to being struck by displaced equipment where the block counterweights on the All Seasons Equipment Hydraulic swing hoist were not fastened to the base to prevent accidental removal or displacement. One method of abatement would be to aquire the manufactured weights and use the manufacturers method of fastening the weights to the base.
