Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to amputation hazards from the rotating blade while using a portable circular saw: Job Site: Cast-in-place form CT-9. Employees were exposed to amputation hazards from the rotating blade while using a Skil model HD77 circular saw where the actual manner used to cut materials was not consistent with the manufacturers instructions. One feasible method of abatement, among others, would be to follow the manufacturer's instructions for placing both hands on the handholds of the saw and to support and clamp the material being cut. "ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM".
