Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to fall and other hazards where the company did not comply with the manufacturers instructions for use or the ANSI Standard for self-propelled elevating platforms: Job Site: West side. a) Prefabricated aluminum platforms were used to extend the reach of the three scissor lift platforms. b) Employees were climbing the guardrail systems of the scissor lifts to access the steep pitched roof. One feasible method of abatement, among others, would be to comply with the manufacturer's instructions and the ANSI/SIA Standard A92.6.rd
