Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Punch Press Department- The Shieh Yih #5 and #17 hydraulic power presses were not equipped with an antirepeat (single cycle mechanism), when activated by the foot pedal. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to include, but not be limited to the following: (1) Conform to American National Standard Institute, "Hydraulic Power Presses" B11.2- 1982. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19 paragraph (d).

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Punch Press Department- The hydraulic power presses mode selectors were not capable of being supervised by the employer on the Niagara #12 and the Shieh Yih #1, #2, #4, #5, #13, #17, #19 and #20. The mode selector knobs for selecting the different mode means, such as, selecting off, "inch", single stroke, continuous, 2 hand/foot and 2 hand/1 hand (left/right) were not capable of being supervised by the employer. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to include, but not be limited to the following: (1) Conform to American National Standard Institute, "Hydraulic Power Presses" B11.2- 1982. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19 paragraph (d).
