(a), Code of Virginia: The employer, failed to furnish a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing death or serious physical harm to employees in that: (a) Employees were drop-starting chain saws in lieu of them being started on the ground or otherwise firmly supported. "One feasible and acceptable way of abatement is to instruct all employees in how to firmly support the chain saw (i.e. on the ground) when starting."
