North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety
and Health Act of North Carolina:  The employer did not furnish to
each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of
employment which were free from recognized hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees:
a) welding shop  --  the Robbins & Myers bottom running crane was not
being inspected on a periodic basis.
ANSI B30.11-80; paragraph 11-2.1.3(b) Complete inspection
of the crane or monorail system shall be performed at
intervals as defined in 11-2.1.1(b)(2)...
NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable
method to correct this hazard is to inspect the
crane as per ANSI B30.11-1980.

maintained on the Robbins & Myers bottom running crane.
ANSI B30.11.80; paragraph 11-2.1.5  Dated evidence of the
inspection of critical items such as hoisting machinery,
sheaves, hooks, chains, ropes, wheels, and other lifting

maintained...
