Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a. Shop Area - On or about June 20, 2000, the employees working in repair area were required to work under full extended hydraulic lifts with defective safety locking devices, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards of being struck by a vehicle or caught between a vehicle and the floor in the event of lift mechanically and/or hydraulically failed. A feasible method of correcting the hazard is to conform to the specifications referenced in ANSI B153.1 Section 3.1.10/1994."s
