General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the employees were exposed to: a. On or about September 18, 2000, at the above addressed jobsite, an employee working from an extensible boom aerial lift was exposed to falls due to the lack of use of personal fall arrest equipment. Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI A92.5-1992 Standards for Boom-Supported Elevating Platforms and have employees wear fall arrest equipment anytime they are in an aerial lift.
