North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: a)in that the lift locks on several of the hydraulic lifts were found to have defects. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to have lift locks repaired as needed and to establish a regular schedule inspections with written records of the lift locks and correct the defects as they may occur.s
