Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a), Annotated Code of Maryland: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:01/13/00 Location:Basement & Store Room Condition:A natural gas service line was vented in the storeroom and basement of a house where sources of ignition were present and the atmosphere was not monitored for combustibility. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement of abatement to correct this hazard is to vent natural gas service lines outside of buildings with all sources of ignition removed, and the atmosphere monitored for combustibility. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
