What this inspection record means

OSHA opens inspections for many reasons — routine scheduling under a national or local emphasis program, an employee complaint or referral, or a follow-up after a reported injury. Opening or conducting an inspection is not itself an allegation or a finding that this employer broke any rule; any findings appear as the citations listed below, and citations can be contested, reduced, or withdrawn.

Nevada Revised Statute 618.375(1): The employer did not furnish
employment and a place of
employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or
likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees, in that:
a.The employer failed to ensure that employees used safety harnesses
and lanyards anchored to approved fixed attachments points while
working from two aerial lifts. Additionally, one employee was
standing on the platform's guardrail while working. Four
employees, two on each aerial lift, were installing dry wall at the
south side of the building located at 2275 W. Corporate Circle Dr.
using a Snorkel TB-60 and a Genie S-60 aerial lifts. These
employees were exposed to possible serious injury and death, in
the event of an accidental fall of approximately 20 to 40 feet were
to occur.
References:
ANSI A92.5-1992 / 8.8(g) - Ensure all personnel in the platform
are wearing fall protection devices and other safety gear as
required at all times. Copy attached.
ANSI A92.5-1992 / 8.10.1 - Personnel shall maintain a firm
footing on the platform floor while working therein. Copy
attached.
One feasible and acceptable abatement method is to make sure that every
employee assigned to
work from the aerial lifts, prior to beginning work, are trained to
recognize hazards that would
be associated with the particular job that they are assigned in. The
employees should also be
trained to keep their feet firmly on the platform while working.
