Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a), Annotated Code of Maryland: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)Date of Violation:12/15/99 Location:Maintenance Area Equipment:TECO Saturn V Aerial Lifts Condition:Unqualified employees conducted mechanical inspection of critical parts of aerial lift. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to train employees in proper inspection techniques. The proposed penalty for this item has been reduced by 50for effective and efficient abatement during the inspection.
