Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:08/08/00 Location:Shop, Next to Containment of Sulphuric Condition:The eyewash unit failed to provide water flow to meet at a central point for simultaneous flushing of the eyes, and was not maintained in a sanitary condition. Among others, on feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to establish and implement an inspection and maintainance program to ensure that the eye wash is functional and sanitary at all times. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
