Condition:Employees were exposed to being struck by ruptured plastic
piping, in
that Schedule 40 PVC piping and fittings, were installed from the air
compressor through the shop area to distribute compressed air
ranging from 80 to 90 p.s.i.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard
is to replace the PVC piping and fittings with steel pipe approved for
this use.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training
certification, etc.) is required for this item.
