Stat. 182.653 subd. 2: The employer did not furnish to each employee, conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards which caused or were likely to cause death or serious injury to employees: The employer failed to provide a protective barrier or guard rail to prevent employees from falling into or stepping onto the gravity conveyor located on the east stairs between the basement and first floor. The employees were not protected from a potential slip and fall down the stairway (sixteen risers) caused by the rollers located on the gravity conveyor.
