Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in
that:
(a)At the worksite at 1801 North Commerce Street, Milwaukee, WI 53212, the
worker fastening plastic molding at the roof edge from an extensible boom
platform (self-propelled) had no personal fall arrest system.  Among
feasible
abatement would be to comply with the American National Standards Institute
(ANSI) A92.5 - 1992 Standard for boom-supported Elevating Platforms and
have
employees wear fall arrest equipment whenever they are in an aerial lilt.
Without
such protective equipment the worker was exposed to the hazard of falling
to the
dirt about 30 feet below.
Certification, with date and method of abatement required.
Certification of abatement is required by 29 CFR Part 1903 and is to be
submitted within ten (10)
calendar days after the abatement date.ment
