North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: hazards associated with a chemical explosion, including but not limited to second degree chemical burns: a)North Carolina State University, Chemistry Department, Withers Hall, Room 316- where an employee added potassium permanganate powder to concentrated sulfuric acid. One feasible abatement method would be to dilute the sulfuric acid to the final concentration before adding the potassium permanganate powder.anate
