Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: On or about 12-28-00, at the job site, the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing injuries when moving a F63 Hudson Machinery hydraulic cutting machine (5600 lbs) with a ML55 Mobile pallet jack (with a capacity of carrying 5500 lbs) down a 43' ramp with an approximate eight degree slope. The awkwardly shaped and top heavy cutting machine was not secured in any way to the pallet jack and turned over. Hand pallet manuals have indicated not use pallet trucks on slopes, and not to use it with an unsecured or unevenly distributed load on the forks. Feasible and acceptable abatement methods include but are not limited to the following: 1- The use of a forklift 2- Hiring outside moving contractors
