Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: A.) On or about 1-30-01, at the job site, the employer did not furnish equipment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were likely cause serious physical harm or death to employees in that employees using the Draper Loom in the Weave Department were required to climb over the loom during the set up of the machine. This exposed employees to fall hazards over 6 feet. One feasible method of abatement is to provide a ladder or platform to gain access over the loom frame and rollers.
