Section 50-9-5(A), NMSA 1978 (New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety
Act):  Every
employer shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of
employment which
are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause
death or serious physical
harm to his employees.
Employees in the Welding Bay, Crane Bay, and the Main Shop are exposed to
struck
by/caught between hazards resulting from overhead hoists (6) not having
periodic
inspections.  One feasible and acceptable abatement method includes but is
not limited
to complete inspections being performed at one to twelve month intervals
as specified in
Section 16-2.2.1.3 of the American National Standards Institute/American
Society of
Mechanical Engineers (ANSI/ASME) Standards B30.16-1973, Overhead Hoists or
as
specified by the manufacturer.
A.) A Wright Way 2 ton hoist on the north end of the craneway in the
Welding
Bay.
B.) A Wright Way 2 ton hoist on the south end of the craneway in the
Welding Bay.
C.) A CM Valustar 2 ton hoist on the west end of the craneway in the Crane
Bay.
D.) A CM Valustar 2 ton hoist on the east end of the craneway in the Crane
Bay.
E.) A Coffing 1/2 ton hoist at the north end of the Main Shop.
F.) A Coffing 1 ton hoist in the install bay of the Main Shop.
