Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to strains, sprains, and lacerations while working on the IMT 1 W aluminizing caurousel: On the IMT 1 W aluminizing carousel, only one emergency stop was provided for the 3 employees working on this carousel. This stop was located in a position where the personnel who could easily access it could not determine the presence or position of the remaining personnel. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to install emergency stop buttons, pull cords, limit switches, or similar emergency devices in accordance with the provisions stipulated in ANSI B20.1 - 1957 and ASME B20.1 - 1996. No additional abatement information is required for this item.
