Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to:
In the alternative to 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i):  a.)  There was no front
cover provided for the
circuit breaker panel located in the east gestation building behind the
door, thus exposing
employees to the hazard of contact with live parts.  Among other methods,
one feasible means
of abatement would be to replace the panel.
b.)  There were three conductors that were live and open to contact by
employees located in
farrowing room five by the old augers, thus exposing employees to the
hazard of contact with
live parts.  Among other methods, one feasible means of abatement would be
to remove the old
wiring.
In the alternative to 29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1):  c.)  There was an opening in
a circuit breaker
panel located in the west gestation building just inside the door, thus
exposing employees to the
hazard of contact with live parts.  Among other methods, one feasible
means of abatement would
be to fill the opening.
d.)  There were two openings in a circuit breaker panel located in the
east gestation building on
the west wall past the second doorway, thus exposing employees to the
hazard of contact with
live parts.  Among other methods, one feasible means of abatement would be
to fill the
openings.
