Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about July 8, 2002, employees were exposed to the hazards of material being inadvertently moved in the wrong direction due to the lack of marking on the hoist controls to indicate the direction of resultant motion. Feasible means of abatement could have been achieved by assuring that each control actuator of an electric or air powered hoist was marked to indicate the direction of resultant motion, in accordance with ANSI B30.16-1998. ***THIS ITEM REQUIRES DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT***
