Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did
not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized
hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to
employees in that
employees were exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono
no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que
esten causando
o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto
empleados
estaban expuestos a:
a. Receive serious injuries due to falls, at the establishment, lathe area
. An
employee, was over a yellow metal handrail, at 37.5 inch from the floor,
109 inch
long, with one inch of diameter, connecting a turbine to a hoist .
Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazards is to provide a ladder to the employee.
a. Recibir lesiones serias por caida, en el establecimiento, area de
tornos. Un
empleado estaba , sobre en una baranda de metal, color amarilla, a 37.5
pulgadas del
suelo, con 109 pulgadas de larga, una pulgada de diametro, conectando una
turbina a
una grua.
Entre otros metodos uno aceptables para corregir este riesgo es proveer
una escalera
al empleado.

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a. Receive serious eye and body injuries with chemicals such as aluminum
filled
phosphate, chromate solution (Alseal 518 SC), phosphate/chromate solution
Alseal 598
A(Blue), prorietary solvent blend (Alseal 598 Part B). At south part of
the building near
the Emergency Station Area. Facilities for quick drenching or flushing of
eye and body,
were obstructed by hoses, that delay quick flushing in case of emergency.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazards is removing the hose and periodic inspection of the area to avoid
obstrutions to
that area.

phosphate, chromate solution (Alseal 518 SC), phosphate/chromate solution
Alseal 598
A(Blue), prorietary solvent blend (Alseal 598 Part B). En la parte oeste
del edificio cerca
al tanque de almacenamiento de jugo. Facilidades para rapido lavado de
ojos y cuerpo
en el area de area de la Estacion de Emergencia, obstruido por mangueras,
retrasando
un rapido lavado en caso de emergencia.
Entre otros metodos uno aceptable para corregir este riesgo es remover la
manga y una
inspeccion periodica del area para evitar obstrucciones hacia el area.
