Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a: Receive serious injuries due to failure of lifting mechanism from (5) automotive lifts trademark Worth serial number of #1)0197-66-01-0898; #2)0197-66-07-0898; #3)0197- 66-06-0898; #4)0197-66-20-0898 and #5)0197-66-19-0898, use by employees for automotive lifting without the evidence of inspection. They were located at mechanical shop east area of the establishment. Among other methods a feasible and aceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to established a periodic inspection procedure as recomended by the ANSI.B153.1-7.1.3. a: Recibir lesiones serias debido a fallas en el mecanismo de levantamiento de carros de (5) elevadores hidraulicos de automoviles marca "Worth" numero de serie de #1)0197- 66-01-0898; #2)0197-66-07-0898; #3)0197-66-06-0898; #4)0197-66-20-0898 y #5)0107- 66-19-0898, usados por los empleados para levantar carros sin evidencia de inspeccion. Estos estan localizados en el taller de mecanica area este del establecimiento. Entre otros metodos, uno viable y aceptable para corregir este riesgo es establecer un metodo de inspecciones periodicas como recomienda el ANSI-B153.1.7.3.
