Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. At establishment. Building north side, automotive service area, equipment position numbers south to north. Receive injuries by crushing due to equipment failure, from automotive lifts, hydraulics, trademark Rotary lift, model SPOA7-100; SPOA9-102 (10 units); cap.9,000 lbs.; parallel lift ramp trademark TMC, cap.9,000 lbs, used by employess for car services. At the time of inspection the automotives lifts were not inspected. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to establish and maintain periodic inspections, in accordance with ANSI/ALI B153.1-1990. a. En establecimiento. Edificio lado norte, area servicio automoviles, numeros posicion de equipos sur a norte. Recibir lesiones por aplastamiento debido a falla de equipo, por elevadores autos, hidraulicos, marca Rotary lift, modelo SPOA7-100; SPOA9-102 (10 unidades); cap.9,000 lbs.; rampa elevador paralela, marca TMC, cap.9,000 lbs., usada por empleados para servicio autos. Al momento de la inspeccion los elevadores de autos no estaban inspeccionados. Entre otros metodos un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este riesgo es establecer y mantener inspecciones periodicas, en acuerdo con ANSI/ALI B153.1-1990.
