Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive serious eye and body injuries with chemicals sush as citric acid, nitric acid, organic acid (corrosive) due to the obstruction of facilities for quick drenching or flushing of eyes and body, that delay its access, in case of emergency. Facilities were obstructed at the following areas: 1. Mixing area second floor, was obstructed by two transfer pomps (#4 and #7). 2- Mixing area, third floor,was obstructed by a desk. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazards is removing the obstruction and periodic inspection of the area. a. Recibir lesiones serias en ojos y cuerpo con quimicos tales como Citric acid, Nitric acid, Organic Acid (corrosivo) , debido a la obstruccion de las facilidades para rapido lavado de ojos y cuerpo, que retrasa su acceso en caso de emergencia. Las facilidades estaban obstruidas en las siguientes areas: 1- Area de mezcla, segundo piso, obstruido por dos bombas de (#4 y#7) 2- Area de mezcla, tercer piso, obstruido por una mesa. Entre otros metodos uno aceptable para corregir este riesgo es remover la obstrucciones periodicas del area.dicas
