Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico: El patrono no proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten causando o que puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados estaban expuestos a: a. Receive serious injuries due to puncture with the following compactor machines: A- Compactor #5, B- Compactor #4, C- Compactor #2, D- Compactor #1. The machines were located in compactor area, west side. Among other method one and feasible abatement method to correct this hazard is to use electronic sensor or other safety devices or appropiate procedures. a. Recibir serias lesiones debido a pinchadura con las siguientes compactadoras: A- Compactadora #5, B- Compactadora #4, C- Compactadora #2, D- Compactadora #1. Las maquinas estaban localizadas en el area de las compactadoras, lado oeste. Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable de corregir este riesgo es usar sensores electronicos, u otros aparatos de seguridad o procedimientos apropiados.
