Condition:Employees were exposed to being struck by ruptured plastic
piping, in
that 1" diameter, Schedule 40 PVC piping and fittings were installed
from the air compressor through the shop area to distribute compressed
air at 120 p.s.i..
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard
is to replace the PVC pipe with a proper compressed air piping system
approved for this
purpose.
Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs,
training
certification, etc.) is required for this item.
