Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards while using a fiberglass step ladder to get on and off the Uniloy Blow Mold machine. a) At Meadow Gold Dairies, Englewood, Colorado: Employees were exposed to injury while using a step ladder to gain access to the top of the machine to change filters. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to install a fixed ladder on the machine. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").-Certification

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputation and crushing hazards while operating the Uniloy Impact Trimmer and Blow Mold machines. a) At Meadow Gold Dairies, Englewood, Colorado: The employer did not ensure that employees checked safety interlocks to verify that they were in proper working order. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is to follow the manufacturer's recommendations and check the interlocks at the beginning of each shift. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").-Certification
