Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnisher employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazard which were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, employees were exposed to crushing injuries in that, tag lines and proper rigging were not being used while moving a section of pipe: a) At Hwy 160 & Piedra Rd., Pagosa Springs, CO: Arrow Electric Services, Inc., employees were exposed to injuries in that, employees were exposed to crushing injuries while moving a section of pipe without using a tag line. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazardous condition would be to use tag lines to control the load and to keep employees out from under the load. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement- Certification Letter").
