Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to slip and fall hazard from damaged ladder: (a)On or about 7/14/00 in the stockroom; mobile ladder stand, serial number 41810, had a broken rod on the brake mechanism. Feasible abatement methods used to correc the hazard, among others, is the implementation of an inspection and maintenance program to include the essential items outlined in American National Standards Institute A92.1-197 NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIREDATION
