North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of North
Carolina:  The employer did not furnish to each of his employees
conditions of employment and
a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were
causing or likely to
cause death or serious physical harm to employees:
a) service area  --  the safety stops on two of the Globe automobile lifts
on the north
side of the service area were defective and inoperable.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct
this hazard is to remove the two defective lifts from service until the
safety stops
and repaired and are working properly.
