Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm: At the Oklahoma City General Motors Plant, construction site of the new paint building, north side, March 5, 2001, a JLG boom lift was operated on muddy ground having an inadequate surface which gave way and created the hazard of tipping over the unit, seriously injuring the operating employees. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to protect employees in the boom lift by constructing a firm, stable, level pad or other adequate means of protection. ***Certification and Documentation of Abatement Required***on
