Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm: At the jobsite; equipment yard controlled by Mustang Line Contractors Inc. a mechanic was fatally injured when his head was caught in the bite point while loading an 8200 lb jeep attached to a 3/8" alloy steel chain that shifted while being incorrectly chained (tied) down. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct the hazard is to use 4-point cross chaining to tie down the load that meets the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations 393.100 requirement for four separate securement points. ***Certification and Documentation of Abatement Required***on
