Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a), Annotated Code of Maryland: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/19/00 Location:Bay #3 Equipment:Globe In-Ground Vehicle Lift, FS28 Condition:Employee operating the automotive lift was not trained in its safe operating procedures, and could be struck by a falling vehicle and/or the lift. Among others, one feasible and acceptable abated method to correct this hazard is to develop and implement a training program for automotive lift users to ensure the use of safe operating procedures. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
