Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard: Throughout the apartment complex, employees are struck by doors leading in and out of apartment buildings. The arms on some of the door closures are corroded to the point that the arm is no longer attached to the door closure. On other door closures, the arms are attached but are so corroded, causing the doors to slam shut. On other doors, screws are missing from the hinges, and the doors are propped open with a brick.
