Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to multiple injuries from falling hazards when employees are elevated on platforms when used with a powered industrial truck: a) Holiday Inn Express, Clearfield, PA - Personnel platform was not secured to the powered industrial truck lifting carriage and/or forks and did not have a guardrail system on all four (4) sides. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to secure the personnel platform to the lifting carriage and/or forks and install a guardrail system to all four (4) sides.
