Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to additional injury in the event they became caught in the machine and were unable to stop it: a) Roll-to-Roll Department, Mitsubishi press #44, lower unit #4 - The emergency stop control on the left-hand side of the machine was not of the mushroom-head type, causing it to be not easily recognized and possibly useless in emergency, on or about 5/5/01. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide a red, mushroom head push button to cause an emergency stop. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.tives
