Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: Enterprise Precast Concrete, Inc., 13800 Giles Rd., Omaha NE: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards in that the employer failed to ensure that lifting hooks were equipped with functional safety latches. Employer had rendered the latch on the lift hook inoperative by taping it back to the neck of the hook. Abatement certification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.ion
